truth, truthfulness

Heed the Signs

When visiting Tasmania recently I heard an amazing story of the Tasman Bridge collapse in which 12 people died, 7 were on the ship and 5 people were in 4 cars. On a Sunday evening at 9.30 pm in 1975, a cargo ship skewed off course and slammed into the pylons of the Bridge. This sent 130 metres of road onto the ship, sinking it and drowning 7 crew members.

However the cars did not fall into the water at the time of impact, tragically it came afterwards. Not knowing what had happened, 2 cars travelled over the busted bridge and hurtled into the water. Another car driven by Murray Ling saw the headlights of those 2 cars disappear and quickly hit the brake. He stopped in time, but the car travelling behind him crashed into him, propelling his car forward so that his wheels hung over the bridge. The occupants teetering on the edge scrambled out of the car.

Murray looking like a drunken madman, frantically waved his arms alerting other cars to stop, but tragically 2 cars swerved around him and ended up careering straight into the Derwent River. One bus loaded with people saw the commotion, and crashed into a barrier which saved all from certain death.

Another car stopped just in time and his wheels also teetered over the edge.

When I heard the story of Murray Ling, it reminds me of those people who tell the truth to people and their various reactions. Some people will not see the importance and ignore it while others will heed it. I pray you search for the truth about Jesus and react accordingly.

Bless you this week, Love vetti x
